AT&T Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 release date and price disclosed

Besides expanding its 4G LTE network to six new markets, AT&T has added the Honeycomb powered Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 to its portfolio. Additionally, the carrier is offering the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket or Samsung Galaxy S II smartphones, free of charge with a two-year customer agreement on purchase of the tablet. The offer is valid for a limited period.

With the release of the Tab 8.9, the carrier looks forward to expanding its 4G LTE network to six new markets, bringing the total to 15. The slim and lightweight tablet runs the Android 3.2 platform and renders services from Google, AT&T as well as Samsung. The front panel of the device dons an 8.9-inch HD multitouch widescreen. This touchscreen delivers 1280 x 800p resolutions, while it utilizes the TouchWiz UX interface for an intuitive experience.

The sleek Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is capable of multitasking as it is fueled by the 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor in addition to 1GB RAM. This device measuring 230.9 x 157.8 x 8.6 millimeters, tips the scale at 15.9 ounces. It is equipped with a 3.2 MP rear-facing camera with built-in LED flash which is capable of recording high definition videos. Additionally, it can be used to engage in online video conferencing with loved ones through the 2MP front-facing webcam.

The device delivers an improved web browsing experience, courtesy the carrier’s 4G LTE network backed by 4G HSPA+. Moreover, the HTML5 and Adobe Flash Player support further enhances internet browsing by providing access to Flash based websites. The 16GB internal memory allows storing large amount of multimedia content and it can be expanded up to 32GB with the help of a memory card.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 priced at $479.99 (approx. Rs. 24,285) is set to hit AT&T on November 20. The tablet requires a two-year commitment and will be available through the carrier’s retail stores and official web portal.
