New HTC Desire handset attributed with HD capabilities?

HTC Desire HD

Only a day after we reported about Telus picking up the HTC Desire handset, rumors about the phone’s HD capable sequel have begun doing rounds of tech world. According to SuperETrader, HTC will upgrade the Desire handset with enhanced HD features.

As opposed to the Desire, the new HTC Desire HD handset is expected to flaunt an 8MP camera that may support HD video recording in 720p resolutions with Xvid video playback. The audio functionality of the phone is anticipated to be backed by SRS surround sound technology. Likely to be launched in a uni-body aluminum chassis, news on the phone seems to have initially hit tech circles under the unconfirmed title of HTC Ace.

Fitted with a 4.3” WVGA touchscreen, this Android 2.2 OS powered gadget might run on a 1GHz Qualcomm processor. It may offer users 4GB of storage capacity which is expandable by up to 32GB. Handset buffs can probably look forward to the much speculated built-in automatic face tracking as well as e-book reader function with the HTC Desire HD. It has also been mentioned that the handset may lend support to Adobe Flash 10.

There is no official word regarding the HTC Desire HD’s pricing and availability as of now.
