Bose AE2 Headphones

Gone are the days when listening to music was restricted to accommodating bulky audio solutions in space-limited corners or carrying along a heavy pair of headphones. If music-oriented peripherals have turned wise with time so have their makers. And for this, Bose couldn’t have been a better illustrator. Be it car audio, noise canceling headphones, or some personalized amplification system, the company has shared a good experience with this. This time, the company drops the new Bose AE2 audio headphones onto our desks to receive a brief report on its performance. Here we go with our drilling review to mark whether this cool pair of headphones deceives music buffs with good performance or is all about good looks.

Without glancing over Bose’s mastery in creating noise cancellation headphones which come straight from the QuietComfort series, let’s have a look at its trail on headphones minus the noise elimination quality. Opening the box leaves us with a dashing pair of headphones lying sturdily in an impressive position. A quick manual partners the review unit to boast of its surpassing features and how Bose technology makes a difference.

Those with sharp memory would remember that the Bose AE2 was initially called as TriPort. The headphones sport a basic, pleasant design with clear pattern changes. We could easily fold the device just like the noise canceling models from the maker, so nothing new gets counted on that front. Appreciating the soft ear cushions for around-ear fit came natural to us while running through the unit.

Bose has meticulously presented a fold-flat design which soothed us to fold it whenever a thought to take a break from listening crossed our mind. A bit to dismay, the pair of headphones doesn’t integrate noise canceling feature. But it does provide a sealed fit and blocks out ambient noise to leak through, something music enthusiasts have to appreciate about. The Bose AE2 is surpassingly comfortable with Bose’s plush, black earpads made of leather. Incredibly lightweight, the model can indeed be a perfect travel buddy to stamp out those drudging hours. As far as wearing the solution is concerned, full marks expeditiously slip away from our hands. If we say ‘Bose has literally defined the word comfort,’ we shouldn’t be pinned down on that front.

Designed to harmonize with style admirers’ closet, the distinctively carved out earcups of the headphones come in an oval shape which certainly looks good when on the ears. With ‘Bose’ inscribed on each earcup, the rim of the same has been tinged with silver which quite a lot keeps sophistication factor high for consumers. The rest of the body, on the other hand, maintains a decent look with color black stretched out throughout the structure. Admittedly, the inner speakers of the device are meticulously covered with a netted cloth, coercing us to think about Bose’s dedication toward following ‘everything matters.’

The integrated earcup cushions are neatly held in place by a mounting flange which snaps under eight small tabs located around the inside rim of each earcup. On finding the earcup cushion partially detached, we could conveniently put the mounting flange of the earcup cushion back into the earcup. Talking about the comfort level, we have no idea from where did Bose elect components to design the model’s replaceable earcup cushions. Alright before something else gets interpreted, let’s put it in a simpler manner. We quite a lot liked the super smooth earcup cushions fitted by the company. Therefore, using the headphones for extended hours gets possible.

The earcups, yet again in the picture, instruct users with Right and Left marked on each side of the pair. The left side of the unit accommodates a 2.5mm port to attach a single cord cable which gives great freedom of movement than Y-cables at the same time. Going reverse and shedding light on its topmost area, we unremittingly adored the soft leather on the outer front with the same section flipping out a soft black cloth on the inner side. Upping the comfort zone is its springy neoprene further. We truly appreciate the way we could adjust the headband up to around three inches in length and let earcup cushions fit comfortably around the ears.

Weighing as light as 140g with cables, the Bose AE2 not only promises complete portability, but also ascertains an impressive audio performance. Integrated with proprietary TriPort acoustic headphone structure that generates tonally balanced audio with deep low notes from lightweight around-ear headphones, the peripheral perfectly serves with amazing sound reproduction that gives a tough competition to those conventional pieces. Through Bose’s cushioned headband which has been redesigned to distribute weight more evenly across the top of the head, delving into a smooth ride was definitely in.

To aggravate this, the acoustic equalization fine-tunes the device’s frequency response for an even better experience. Listening to songs while continuing with other activities was pure fun, accredit to the convenient framework that has been accompanied by good sound quality. The clarity level certainly gets good marks for performing perfectly, while details don’t lag behind in between. Besides this, the fold flat earcups enable for easy storage and transport whereas the drawstring carry bag will store the travel companion spaciously.

To put it in a nutshell, the Bose AE2 headphones make a great option for those loyal towards the brand and those agog about music. Apart from its unique design and super comfy earcups and the whole structure, we liked the audio quality as well. Almost near to getting an ‘A+’ from us, the headphones somewhere manages to get an inimical nod for attaching an overly heavy price tag. Right from the design to the sound quality to the comfort level, everything is good about the device. Though a price of Rs. 8,000 might sound okay to music enthusiasts, customary users who want to try Bose for the first time or just rifle through comfort will find it on a heavier side. Slightly marked down for this point, the cool headphones easily get a rating of 9 out of 10.

    Hello,

I’ve just bought a pair of these headphones, I love to go running outside or on the hometrainer, While doing that I am starting to sweat, does this have any (negative) effect on the headphones?
