iRiver E200 now official

iRiver E200 PMP Finally, the iRiver E200 has been officially launched by the company’s Hong Kong website. Last month we caught a glimpse of the aluminum styled E200. This PMP closely resembles its predecessor, the E100. However, this player lacks support for Bluetooth headsets and the trendy OLED display also goes amiss.

The E200 is available in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities. The microSD card slot is capable of supporting up to 8GB cards. Measuring 10mm in thickness, the E200 flaunts a 2.8-inch QVGA LCD display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The standard 3.5mm jack allows users to use earphones of their choice with the player.

For connectivity the player includes a USB connection that also assists in synchronizing the music content. The file formats supported by this player include audio formats like MP3, WMA, OGG, ASF and FLAC along with video formats like MPEG-4, Xvid, WMV, RM and RMVB. The video is played at a speed of 30fps.

The player can also support image formats like JPEG, BMP, PNG and GIF. The E200 allows users to record audio files and listen to FM radio. The company claims that the PMP will provide up to 17hrs of audio and 5hrs of video playback with a single charge. The E200 weighs only 94.1g.

Although the iRiver E200 has been launched, there is still no word on the pricing and the release date. We are hoping for the details to be unveiled soon. It is also speculated that the player will be priced to compete with the Apple iPod.
