Samsung India has announced the launch of a bunch of products recently. This bunch includes seven digital still cameras and four new feature-packed digital camcorders, including two DVD camcorder models.
The newly launched Samsung cameras have resolution ranging from 6.0 mega pixel to 10.0 mega pixel.
The Samsung i70Camera is a 7.2 mega pixel camera with 3x Optical Zoom and 3-inch 230,000- pixel wide LCD with sliding cover. It also offers multimedia functions such as camcorder (MPEG4 movie recorder), MP3 player, portable multimedia player, text viewer, voice recorder and portable disk. It also provides a dynamic graphical user interface. With its character input function, a user can take a picture and then leave a note on the picture in English, Korean, Chinese or special characters. Some of the other features of this camera include advanced shake reduction (ASR), edit/effect function for picture taking and editing as well as PictBridge Support. i70 is priced at Rs 23,990.
The Samsung L73 and L700 have similar features like 7.2 mega pixel resolutions, 3x optical zoom, 2.5 inch TFT colour LCD .Both the cameras have aluminum body and are lightweight. Also they offer MPEG 4 movie mode. Besides these, L73 features Smart Touch user interface, advanced shake reduction (ASR), Face Recognition AF&AE and Mpeg4 movie in SVGA quality. L73and L700 carry price tags of Rs 18,490 and Rs 14,990 respectively.
The Samsung S1030 and S850 digital cameras come with 10.1 mega pixel and 8.1 mega pixel camera resolution, and 3x/5x optical zoom, MPEG 4 movie mode, ASR and high-sensitivity. S1030 is well equipped with a 2.7-inch large bright colour LCD, user friendly ‘E’ button for direct access to special photo effects, mode dial and quick print button. On other hand S850 features shot function which takes two pictures simultaneously (ASR and Flash) in delicate light conditions and stores both the images so that users can select the better one later. The Samsung S1030 costs Rs 18,990 and the S850 is priced at Rs 15,990.
The S630 and S730 both are entry level cameras having 6.0 and 7.2 MP resolutions. Moreover they have features such as 3x optical zoom, 2.5 inch TFT colour LCD, ASR function and ‘E’ Button to access various photo effects directly. Rs 9990 is the price of the S630 and S730 is priced at 10,990.
With digital cameras, Samsung has also launched four new advanced digital camcorders in the Indian market. VP-D371 is entry level camcorder having 34X optical zoom and 6.8 cm wide. The VP-D371 will be available at Rs 14,990.
The Samsung VP-D975Wi digital camcorder is incorporated with optical 26x, digital 1200x zoom lens; 6.8 cm wide LCD. It also includes a 16:9 wide screen format so that users can capture any action. Besides, the VP-D975Wi has SD/MMC memory card; digital image stabiliser; PictBridge and MPEG 4 movie function. The price of the Samsung VP-D975Wi is Rs 25,490.
Other two camcorders are VP-DC 173i and VP-575Wi. The VP-DC 173i is capable of shooting and recording videos directly on DVD. Moreover it is equipped with 34x Schneider optical zoom, 1200x digital zoom. The Voice Plus function allows users to narrate over a pre-recorded movie via the camcorder’s microphone. The VP-DC 173i is available in the market at Rs. 21,990.
The VP-575Wi is the premium range DVD model which is loaded with 26x Schneider optical zoom, 1200x digital zoom; 1.1 megapixel CCD; 6.8 cm wide LCD Screen; VOICE Plus; SD/MMC memory card; digital image stabiliser; PictBridge, MPEG 4 movie function and a remote control and is priced at Rs 28,990.
The company is offering two batteries, two DVDs and a carry bag free with all camcorder models.
