Koss Striva Wi-Fi headphone systems stream music directly from the web

Koss Striva Tap Wi-Fi

No more will users have to depend on their mobile phones to stream music to headsets, as the Koss Striva Wi-Fi pair of headphones does the needful without the assistance of any other device. The in-ear monitor system of the Striva Tap and Striva Pro, utilizes technologies like the Striva Core, MyKoss online server and Striva CAP along with minute Wi-Fi components.

The Striva Core is a computer that acts as a web server and has been integrated in Striva Pro headphones as well as Striva Taps in-ear headsets. The MyKoss server is responsible for establishing connections with internet broadcasting sites to stream music from personalized channels. The MyKoss website can be opened in any of the browsers like Internet Explorer, Chrome and more. These technologies team up with the Striva CAP or Content Access Point, which converts music from various devices to digital TCP/IP stack and delivers it to the headphones in question.

“We created the Striva system with a specific focus on personalization. We developed a platform that allows listeners to create their own music channels, based on their preferences, using MyKoss options to filter music by genre, artist, or decade. Once the channel is set up, listeners can simply press a button or touch a sensor to send a thumbs up or thumbs down back to the MyKoss server to remotely ‘fine tune’ the content delivered to their personalized channels. Both models feature a new capacitive touch control design that allows the listener to change volume, switch channels or jump streams with a simple swipe or tap,” stated Michael J. Koss, President and CEO.

Koss Striva Pro Wi-Fi

First up is the Koss Striva Tap Wi-Fi in-ear monitor which is as small as 1.5 inches in length and not connected by wires to the left and right earbuds. It incorporates microprocessors to synchronize the music for both ears. The tracks can be controlled via the capacitive touch controls placed on the device itself. This extremely compact audio peripheral should suit mobile users quite well.

The Striva Pro over-the-ear headphones are a step ahead and recognize gestures on the ear cup. So listeners can change channels or alter volume levels by flicking a button or swiping a finger over the ear cup. The foldable audio gear is said to blend elegant design with better sound quality. Additionally, both the Striva variants feature CAP to plug the earphones into a headphone jack for streaming music through a personal music library or applications like Pandora and Spotify.

The Koss Striva Wi-Fi prices and availability details have been divulged. The Pro version is up for grabs at $450 (approx. Rs. 23,645), while the Striva Tap can be purchased for $500 (approx. Rs. 26,625) through the official company portal.
