Grado PS500 professional series headphones introduced

Grado PS500 Professional Series HeadphonesBuilt especially for audiophiles and recording engineers, the PS500 professional series headphones were released by Grado a few days back. These are a cost-effective version of the PS1000 headphones.

The Grado PS500 features a frequency response ranging between 14Hz and 29kHz. Possessing an open air design, they apparently produce natural sounds with incredible clarity. The audio device features a dynamic transducer type along with a combination of mahogany and aluminum components to minimize vibration.

The headphones equip vented diaphragms along with a hybrid air chamber. Featuring an impedance of 32Ohms, they incorporate a UHPLC copper voice coil wire and connecting cord. According to the Grado page, large diaphragms reportedly contain rare earth metals including gold wire for maximum definition.

Almost similar to the previously released PS1000 headphones, the PS500 shares the same hybrid construction and inner sleeves of hand-crafted mahogany. It possesses an outer housing machined from a hard metal alloy. Dressed in aluminum and black, the special treatment and casting of the metal is said to increase the headphone’s porosity.

This month saw the launch of the Creative WP-450, 350 and 250 headphones as well, in India. The Bluetooth headphones come with leatherette cushions for comfortable ear placement and provide up to 8 and 9 hours of talk time and music playback respectively. The three headphones are believed to be perfect for travelers and integrate invisible microphones which aid in minimizing background noise to make conversations clearer.

The Grado PS500 professional series headphones are now available for $595 (approx. Rs. 29,524) through leading retail stores.
