With an aim to promote responsible driving, Jabra has launched its new Freeway Bluetooth in-car speakerphone in India. Touted by the company to be the world’s first 2.1 stereo in-car speakerphone, this device is capable of full stereo, virtual surround sound (AM3D). The Jabra Freeway Bluetooth in-car speakerphone requires no installation as it can be easily clipped on to the visor and controlled via voice commands. Users are also offered voice guidance by this device.
The Jabra Freeway speakerphone can be concurrently connected with any two Bluetooth capable devices including laptops, smartphones or even gaming consoles. It is an HD voice ready gadget which means that when Indian mobile operators start offering the feature, this device will be able to deliver HD voice after a simple software upgrade. Users can make, answer, end, redial, ignore and reject calls through voice commands. Besides, they can also start pairing, ask for battery status, start and control music player via their voice.
Furthermore, in case of someone calling the user, the device calls out the name of the person exactly how it’s stored in the phone. It also reads out the number if no name is displayed. The Jabra Freeway can even stream FM radio, at the same time allowing the audio of calls to come from car’s stereo. If the radio of the car supports RDS, this device can even display caller IDs on the radio display. Using its Noise Blackout Extreme technology, the gadget cancels background noise through DSP (digital signal processing).
The Jabra Freeway also kicks in a built-in motion sensor which switches it on and off when the user enters or departs. Moreover, it automatically powers down after 5 minutes of the user leaving the car. It apparently offers a talk time of 14 hours and a standby time of up to 40 days. During the night, its LED battery indicators can also be switched off to avoid disturbance to the eyes.
The Jabra Freeway Bluetooth in-car speakerphone is now available in India at a price of Rs. 7,499. A one year local warranty too is offered with the product.
