Corsair Force Series 3, GT SSDs

The new Force Series 3 and Force Series GT SSDs were recently unveiled by Corsair. Both solid state drives come in 90GB configurations and are compatible with SATA 2.

The SSDs feature easy-to-use 3.5-inch adapters which can be used in notebook and desktop PCs. The Force Series 3 model can provide support for SATA 6Gb/s and employs asynchronous flash memory for providing supposedly enhanced performance value to users. It possesses sequential read and write speeds of up to 550MB/s and 500MB/s respectively.

“We’re happy to add the world’s first 90GB SSD to our product lineup. With 50% more storage capacity than our 60GB models and at pricing significantly lower than our 120GB models, they help make the Force Series 3 and Force Series GT among the most robust and flexible SSD lines on the market,” said Thi La, Vice President of Memory Products at Corsair.

The Force Series GT model comes equipped with ONFI synchronous flash memory which is said to make it suitable for reading and writing non-compressible data like video and music files. This SSD can deliver up to 555MB/s and 505MB/s of read and write speeds respectively. It has been specifically crafted for enthusiasts who crave for faster speeds.

The Force Series 3 is priced at $159 while the Corsair GT SSD comes for a price of $199. They are now available at authorized distributors and retailers all over the world.
