Sharp has announced to develop a new TV tuner called VA3A5JZ922, which has taken 1seg TV tuners to a new level by being a smallest tuner in the world.
The manufacturer claims that the new tiny TV tuner is 30 percent smaller than the tuners that are available in the market currently.
The VA3A5JZ922 measures only 5.9 x 5.9 x 0.9mm and is smaller and thinner than a penny.
Sharp’s new “smallest†TV tuner will be available in the Japanese market from next week for ¥20,000. Further Sharp has stated that from next month onwards, it would be producing a million units of VA3A5JZ92, per month.
