Here’s yet more news from the PMA 2010 – Sony is showcasing their entire line of retail and professional photofinishing products at the event comprising of the PictureStation, SnapLab and UP-DR80 solutions. The company’s new Compact PictureStation digital photo printing kiosk will also be displayed at the PMA.

The new Compact PictureStation system may be described as a full-featured digital photo printing kiosk. It is cited to have a small footprint that is appropriate for almost any store layout. This solution proffers a network configured system that enables owners to send photos from their home to the retailer for pick-up, design online photobooks or even order photo gifting products. Combining it with the UP-DR200 and UP-DR80 delivers customers a range of photo prints from 3.5″ x 5″ up to 8″ x 10″ enlargements.

“Consumers have come to expect that their local pharmacy or grocery store offers photofinishing, but as the shift to digital photography has taken hold, few small retailers have been able to keep up with their larger competitors,” explained Belinda Lopresti, senior marketing manager at Sony’s Digital Photofinishing. “PictureStation and SnapLab allow the smaller stores to not only offer the same top quality prints as mass retailers, but also a wider selection of digital photo-related accessories.”

The PictureStation and SnapLab kiosk are touted to deliver the benefits of the company’s dye-sub technology and may be customized to suit various sales environments. This can include a stand-alone PictureStation kiosk or a countertop unit in the form of the Sony SnapLab system. The previously unveiled UP-DR80 photo printer and UPX-C300 Digital Passport and ID printing solution will also exhibited at the PMA 2010.

The aforementioned products are currently available for purchase through Sony’s official website.
