With the PMA 2010 on in full swing, digital camera manufacturers seem to be on a roll. General Imaging displayed a whole host of digital cameras at the event comprising of the GE Active series G5WP, GE Power Pro series X5, GE Smart series J1455, C1033 C1233, A1255 and A1455 as well as the GE Power series E1486TW and E1480W. All GE models are cited to incorporate features such as Pan-Capture Panorama for wide-angle shots and Auto Scene Detection.
The 12.2MP G5WP has a 4 x internal zoom lens and its waterproof design allows users to take underwater shots. It will be out in shades of graphite gray, ocean blue and raspberry red. The X5 integrates a 28mm lens, optical IS technology with 15 x optical zoom and offers ISO 3200 sensitivity levels. Both will hit shelves in the first half of the current year.
The 14.2MP J1455 with 5 x optical zoom is set to be released in the second quarter of 2010 in a number of colors including black, silver and red. General Imaging’s C1033 and C1233 cameras are attributed with face detection, electronic image stabilization and red-eye removal technologies. They will be out in the third quarter of this year in several hues like red, silver, black and so on.
“We have done extensive research into what consumers want and need from their digital cameras, and simplicity is key in helping them take great pictures,” declared Paul Meyhoefer, General Imaging’s VP of Marketing and Product Planning. “Our 2010 family of GE branded digital cameras is feature-packed, yet easy-to-use, offering consumers more value at a remarkable price.”
This PMA also witnessed the unveiling of the 12MP A1255 and 14MP A1455 cameras extending 2.7†LCDs and 5 x optical zoom. Both models will be launched this spring in shades of black, red and silver among others. The 14MP E1486TW and E1480W sport 3†LCDs and proffer 8 x optical zoom. The cameras will be splashed out in black, silver and red colors within 0.83†slim bodies in the first quarter of this year.
General Imaging’s G5WP, X5, E1480W and E1486TW digital cameras are priced at $179.99 (approx. Rs.8,315), $149.99 (approx. Rs.6,930), $179.99 (approx. Rs. 8,315) and $149.99 (approx. Rs.6,930), respectively. The J1455, C1033, C1233, A1255 and A1455 will cost $129.99 (approx. Rs.6,000), $69.99 (approx. Rs.3,233), $59.99 (approx. Rs.2,770), $89.99 (approx. Rs.4,157) and $99.99 (approx. Rs.4,620), correspondingly.
