Casio adds EX-S7 and EX-Z35 to Exilim line of digital cameras

Much to the camera enthusiast’s delight, the ongoing PMA 2010 is playing host to a lot of camera offerings as usual. Casio slid the covers off two new digital cameras under the Exilim line dubbed EX-S7 and EX-Z35 at the PMA this year. Both incorporate several intelligent automated features including Best Shot, Face Detection and Easy Mode.

The 12.1MP EX-S7 and EX-Z35 integrate 1/2.3 inch² pixel CCD image sensors as also 2.7” and 2.5” TFT LCDs, correspondingly. They offer 3 x optical zoom, 4 x (12 x in combination with optical zoom) digital zoom and 18.7 x (at VGA with optical and digital zoom) HD zoom. Still photos can be recorded in JPEG, DCF 1.0 and DPOF formats, while videos may be shot in Motion JPEG, AVI and IMA-ADPCM formats supported by WAV (monoaural) audio format.

The EX-S7 boasts of being developed with Casio’s Exilim Engine 5.0 that offers speedy image processing and better quality images. Its Dynamic Photo function which renders green-screen-like effects allows users to design their own visuals that can be mailed, uploaded to social networking sites or printed out. This camera hosts a USB/AV port and has 35.2MB of onboard flash memory. It has a dedicated button for HD Movie recording and extends Auto/64/100/200/400/800/1600 ISO sensitivity levels.

The cameras proffer Auto Focus, Macro Mode, Pan Focus, Infinity mode as also Manual focus and each come with embedded a monoaural microphone and speaker. These rechargeable Li-ion battery-powered devices deliver a number of recording functions such as Snapshot, Marco, Self-timer, Continuous shooting, Best Shot, Face Detection, easy Mode, Movie and voice recording. Other functions include Playback Zoom(8X), Start-up Images, Rotate, Re-size, Trimming, Copy, BGM Slideshow, Red Eye Correction and so on.

Casio’s EX-S7 camera will hit shelves this spring in shades of black and purple at $139.99 (approx. Rs.6,462). The EX-Z35 will be made available by next month in the colors black, purple, pink, silver and blue with a $109.99 (approx. Rs.5,077) price tag. Each will be bundled in with rechargeable Li-ion batteries and a charger, CD-ROM, USB and AV cables.
