Sharp Blu-ray DVD Recorder with 1TB Storage Space announced in Japan

Sharp logo Japanese consumer electronics maker Sharp has unveiled its new Blu-ray high-definition DVD recorder with 1TB storage space, making it the world’s largest storage capacity available on any Blu-ray recorder.

The Sharp 1TB Blu-ray model can also record 127 hours of digital high-definition programs. With this launch, this format of products will push the rival HD-DVD a step further in the on going war of the formats.

Osaka-based Sharp is also planning to launch eight new Blu-ray recorder models by 2007-end in Japan.

The Sharp Blu-ray DVD Recorder with 1TB Storage Space is expected to be out in the Japanese market by December with the suggest price of 300,000 Yen (approx. Rs. 1,04,000).
