Epson has launched three new large format, 8-colour professional production printers, namely the EPSON Stylus Pro 4880 in 17″, the 24-inch EPSON Stylus Pro 7880 and the 44-inch EPSON Stylus Pro 9880.
Each printer equips the EPSON UltraChrome K3 Ink with Vivid Magenta technology for top photography exhibitors, fine art dealers and commercial print retailers. The 8-color ink system delivers a wide color gamut, replicating colors with accuracy, high color stability and consistency, durability and the ability to negate metameris and bronzing effects.
The Epson’s super halftone technology is a new image processing engine that has been developed for dot mapping and improves image detail, which might get lost in low resolution images. Furthermore, this new mapping algorithm has the ability to eliminate the graininess at both low and high resolutions to deliver smooth images with more accurate representation.
With superior media flexibility, the Epson large format printers are compatible with a wide range of Epson paper up to 1.5mm in thickness. These devices also support glossy paper, matte paper, matte board, fine art paper and plain paper. Additionally, they also come standard with a roll holder and cut street support.
Targeting the modern professional production environment, all the three printers feature network-ready support via built-in Ethernet support. The Epson Stylus Pro 4880 crams a paper cassette feed mechanism, for high-volume production on cut sheet paper from A4 to 17-inch wide.
Epson is currently offering the Epson Stylus Pro 4880, Epson Stylus Pro 7880 and the Epson Stylus Pro 9880 printers in India. Sadly, there is no mention on the price of any of the three printers.
