HP Scanjet G4010

Hewlett Packard has unveiled two photo scanners in India. But the HP Scanjet G4050 and G4010 photo scanners are not the ordinary kind of scanners. On the contrary they feature the world’s first 6-color/96-bit scanning technology. Not sure what to make of this then read on.

A traditional three-color scanner uses just three samples in the primary colors of red, green and blue. However, these two new HP scanners use a 6-color/96-bit technology that uses an additional light source that provides the scanner with an additional three extra samples for every pixel.

The features and benefits of using the new HP Scanjet G4010 and G4050 scanners are as follows:

  • The HP Scanjet G4050 and G4010 Photo Scanners enable users to create high-definition scans with superior 6-color/96-bit scanning and 4,800 x 9,600-dpi resolution. Users can easily restore old or damaged photos, slides and negatives by removing dust and scratches, restoring faded color, automatically removing red-eye and enhancing detail in dark areas of photos.
  • HP’s latest scanners offer a built-in transparent materials adapter. In order to scan multiple images at one time, the HP Scanjet G4050 PhotoScanner can hold up to sixteen 35-mm slides or 30 negative frames, with precise hardware dust and scratch removal. The HP Scanjet G4010 Photo Scanner can hold up to five 35-mm slides or six negative frames.
  • The HP Scanjet G4050 PhotoScanner also features innovative hardware dust and scratch removal functionality. Using an infrared (IR) light source to detect tiny anomalies like dust and scratches, transparent materials that have such blemishes can have them automatically and quickly removed at the time of scanning without the need for software intervention, ultimately ensuring users receive sharper images.
  • Both the G4010 & G4050 scanners feature four 1-touch task buttons to quickly organize, edit, share and save scans. At the touch of a button, users can also easily save images to PDF.
  • With high-definition scanning at 4,800 x 9,600-dpi resolution and 48-bit color,(2) users will enjoy exceptional photo, film and document scans with true-to-life color and detail.
  • The scanners can also quickly scan multiple 4 x 6-inch photos and automatically save them as individual files, in addition to producing high-quality scans of various paper sizes and 3D objects such as books, memorabilia, framed photos, special craft projects, slides and jewelry.
  • The HP Scanjet G4010 and HP Scanjet G4050 are priced at Rs.11,999 and Rs.17,999 respectively.
