Swipe’s Slate Pro is an iPad-inspired 9.7-inch voice calling Android tablet

The Swipe Slate Pro has been introduced in India and is a decent choice for those looking for an iPad-like tablet at an affordable price. The slate obviously runs on Android, version 4.4 KitKat, and it’s voice calling enabled as well, which is pretty much a norm these days.

The Swipe Slate Pro is clearly inspired by the Apple tablet as it offers a similar design and also features a 9.7-inch display. The screen is an HD IPS LCD panel and is accompanied by a VGA camera on the front, while the primary snapper is rated at 2MP.

Apart from offering voice calling over cellular, the Swipe tablet also has HSPA data access for browsing the web and streaming media when a Wi-Fi connectivity isn’t available. However, there doesn’t appear to be any earpiece on the front for making calls and you’ll probably have to resort to using a pair of headphone with an integrated microphone.

Nevertheless, you’d look pretty silly talking on a 9.7-inch tablet. The innards of the slate paint a very familiar picture as the hardware employed is pretty much the same as what every other budget device offers. The company has included a 1.3GHz quad core processor, 1GB RAM, 1GB storage and a microSD card slot. The biggest highlight of this slate is that it comes with a massive 6400mAh battery.
