Micromax Canvas Xpress with Hot Knot sharing goes on sale in India Rs 6999

The Micromax Canvas Xpress has been officially launched in India as an affordable smartphone and it comes with an attractive price tag of Rs 6999. Not only that, the handset also has some pretty nifty features and it’s designed to impress as well.

Let’s start with the appearance – The Micromax Canvas Xpress’s front highly resembles some of Nokia’s early Lumia smartphones. The phone has a metallic design with sharp edges and is 8.65mm thick. It’s also quite heavy for a 4.5-inch release, at 143 grams. The display used here is an IPS panel with FWVGA resolution.

Accompanying the screen on the front is a VGA camera, while the rear has a 5MP snapper which can record videos at 720p HD resolution. On the inside, the phone employs a 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek processor to do the heavy lifting. For memory, there’s 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and a microSD card slot.

It also has dual SIM card slots and supports 3G HSPA+ networks. The battery is rated at 1950mAh and is capable of delivering up to 7 hours of 2G talk time or around 240 hours of standby. In the software department, the phone is powered by KitKat and it supports Hot Knot sharing which allows users to transfer files by tapping the displays of two supported handsets.
