New in India is the Intex Aqua Style Mini smartphone which has been priced by its makers at Rs 4990 and comes equipped with low-end specs. What’s interesting is that this launch comes along with a tie-up with the film Mary Kom which is a biopic on the life of the Olympic medal winning Indian boxer.
The first 5000 units of this smartphone will hence feature an icon of the athlete embossed on their rear surfaces. Keshav Bansal, who’s the director of marketing over at Intex Technologies has asserted that the ideas of ‘true character, grit, inspiration and determination’ which are portrayed in the film ‘immensely resonated’ with the company’s brand ethos which led to the association of the film with the brand.
The Aqua Style Mini from Intex showcases its visuals on a 4-inch 480 x 800 pixel display, and runs on a 1GHz dual core processor sitting atop a MediaTek chipset. This setup is accompanied by 512MB worth of RAM and a 1400mAh Li-ion battery.

The device also houses a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front-facing one. There’s 4GB of storage that can be exploited by its users, apart from a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB of additional space.
