Not only has Zen raised a worthy contender to compete against the Micromax Canvas A116, christening it the Ultrphone 701 HD, but the manufacturer has also marked the smartphone with a relatively less price. Currently up for pre-order through Snapdeal at a booking amount of Rs. 101, the handset will be made available at Rs. 11,999 upon its release.
As for the specifications, the Zen Ultraphone 701 HD proffers more or less the same components brought in by the Canvas HD. For starters, it houses a 5-inch capacitive touch screen utilizing IPS technology and just like the latter, encompasses a 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution. It has also been crafted to accommodate dual SIM ports.
There is a similar quad core MediaTek chipset clocked at 1.2GHz resting under the hood. Other internal components running parallel are 1GB of RAM and a 2,000mAh Li-ion cell. Even though the battery’s power scales up to be the same as that of the A116, those using the smartphone under consideration should benefit from roughly 8 hours of talk time, which is 3 hours more than that rendered by its rival.

It is safe to say that the company has indeed done an admirable job by offering slightly better components than the Rs. 14,999-worth A116 at a lesser amount.
