The Samsung Galaxy S4 release date for countries across the world has been revealed to be some time in the second quarter, but the company has refrained from giving out exact details for the same. This highly-anticipated phone was launched at the unpacked event held in New York yesterday and it more than manages to build up on the success of its immediate predecessor.
As was rumored, the front panel of the Galaxy S4 is graced by a Super AMOLED full HD capacitive display of 1920 x 1080p resolution. It offers a huge multi-touch real estate spanning 5 inches diagonally and has a pixel density of 441ppi. Right from 2.5G to 4G LTE, the device claims to be compatible with all of these mobile networks and doesn’t forget to bring Wi-Fi either. The GPS-enabled handset’s connectivity options are inclusive of NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and MHL 2.0. An IR LED has also been thrown into the mix, so it can act as a universal remote control with a little assistance from the WatchOn app.
It comes in two versions featuring either a 1.6GHz octa core processor or a 1.9GHz quad core chip, which will be released in different markets around the world. Powerful CPUs like these should be accompanied by nothing less than 2GB of RAM and the phone provides internal memory of 16 GB, 32GB or 64GB. A microSD card of up to 64GB capacity can be inserted in the dedicated expansion slot too. A 2600mAh battery is responsible for keeping it charged for a long period of time.
The device measuring 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 millimeters, will arrive drenched in shades of black mist and white frost. It tips the scales at merely 130 grams. This smartphone’s seek and stylish form factor houses two shooters – a 2MP front-facing webcam as well as a 13MP rear-facing auto focus snapper with Flash and zero shutter lag. Functions like dual camera and dual video call let customers use both snappers at the same time.
