The BlackBerry Z10 release date for India has been confirmed as the Canadian manufacturer has forwarded teaser invites for a launch event to be held on February 25 in Mumbai and it is speculated to carry a price tag of Rs. 39,000. It is expected to start shipping a few days after the launch and will be made available in shades of black and white in the country.
NDTV Gadgets had stumbled upon reports suggesting that the OEM will slide the covers off the Z10 on February 24 and now they have reported about the official invites. So far the phone has only seen the light of the day in countries like the UK and Canada and is slated to arrive in the US in March this year. Nothing has been mentioned about the Q10, another 10 OS-based handset that was unveiled in January.
To refresh memories, the device in question does not feature a physical QWERTY keypad, but its new platform tags along an intuitive keyboard which is capable of accurately predicting words as users type. A touch panel measuring 4.2 inches diagonally lays claim over the phone’s front side and renders visuals in 1280 x 768p resolution.
And that’s not all. A dual core processor that can clock in a maximum speed of 1.5GHz rests under the hood to facilitate multitasking by supporting several applications simultaneously. Also, 2GB of RAM has been deployed into the smartphone in order to ensure smooth navigation at all times. The responsibility of keeping the device charged up to cough up usage time that lasts for an entire day, has been assigned to a 1,850mAh battery.
Prospective customers can save digital content of up to 16GB on the device and even increase it further by up to 64GB using a memory card. The phone is also armed with a 2MP front-facing camera as well as an 8MP primary snapper that should capture good-quality pictures or videos. And those who absolutely cannot do without a QWERTY keypad, should consider waiting for the Q10 till April this year.
As we already mentioned, the BlackBerry Z10 is expected to be released on February 25.
