Vertu Ti price starts at whopping $9,600

The Vertu Ti release date has been confirmed for this month and the luxury phone which is hand-crafted in England seems like a good choice for those who have $9,600 to spare, as that’s what its starting price is. This handset happens to be the company’s first Android device.

Although the Vertu Ti is an extremely expensive smartphone, it hasn’t been packed with leading edge technology. Nevertheless, the phone comes across as a good limited-edition option. It measures 130.4 x 58.9 x 12.8 millimeters and is wrapped in a sturdy titanium casing. The device claims to be light in weight as it tips the scales between 181 and 201 grams, depending up on the version. Additionally, there are leather accents on its body which should add to the classy appeal.

Its front panel houses a virtually scratch-resistant display, believed to be as much as 4 times stronger than that of the other smartphones. This 3.7-inch touchscreen is carved using sapphire which is responsible for the screen’s durability. And under the touch panel lies an intuitive interface, thanks to the Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 platform.

And what’s more, various tests have been conducted on the device for assessing the ruggedness of the sapphire crystal display as well as as the robustness of its leather accents. A deformation and 40 other mechanical and environmental tests have revealed that it can work in extreme temperatures too.

Furthermore, the device gains steam from a 1.7GHz processor and tags along 64GB of internal memory. It features NFC so prospective users can easily transfer data to compatible gadgets and make payments using Google Wallet. Engadget reports that the Vertu Ti Titanium Black Leather version can be picked up for $9,600 (approx. Rs. 5,16,330), while the Pure Black variant sets users back by $11,500 (approx. Rs. 6,18,520). The Black Alligator and the Black PVD Titanium Red Gold Mixed Metals will be up for sale for $12,800 (approx. Rs. 6,88,435) and $19,900 (approx. Rs. 10,70,315), respectively.
