Micromax Canvas 4 price finally goes official in India

The Micromax Canvas 4, a price-friendly Android phone that has been in the news ever since the company introduced it in India through teaser videos, is finally up for sale. It was already up for pre-order and now the OEM has revealed that this Micromax Canvas device will come attached with a price tag that reads Rs 17,999.

All set to give the quad core phablets a run for their money, the Micromax Canvas 4 that plays successor to the recently-unveiled HD smartphone, comes fitted with a 5-inch multi-touch IPS LCD screen capable of rendering visuals in 720p resolution. And in order to keep scrapes and scratches at bay, it has been reinforced with a Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Front

A Cortex A7 processor featuring four cores has been assigned the duty of maintaining smooth multitasking at all times. The chipset can clock in a maximum speed of 1.2GHz. Additionally, the Micromax Canvas 4 rocks the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 platform that is basically responsible for bringing an intuitive interface to the table.

The smartphone also allows users to keep their personal and professional lives separate by extending support to two SIM cards at the same time. And as it can run on 3G networks, they should be able to surf the web at faster speed while on the move. It has been loaded with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage which is further expandable by up to 32GB using a microSD card.

Coming to the cameras, the Micromax Canvas 4 handset’s front panel has been outfitted with a 5MP snapper, while the imaging lens on the rear panel boasts of employing a 13MP sensor. All the common attributes like auto focus, LED flash, face detection, panorama, HDR and touch focus to name a few have been deployed in the device as well. Thanks to a 2000mAh battery, the phone manages to cough up talk time of close to 8 hours.

Pre-loaded with applications like MusicHub, Fone Clay, Opera Mini, Hike Messaging and more, the device brings some unique features to allows customers to answer or make calls by simply bringing the smartphone close to their ears and to keep it on silent by simply flipping it backwards. Blowing the air on the phone unlocks it and the device is extremely multitasking as it allows watching two videos at the same time or opening the browser along with another application.

Rear

The Canvas 4 will be made available in shades of pristine white or smoky grey and will be accompanied by a flip cover priced at Rs 3000.
