Virgin Media ZTE Blade III price for UK confirmed, hits availability status

The ZTE Blade III, a successor to the Blade I and II, has dropped anchor in the UK and is now available through Virgin Media for a price of under £80. It’s a mid-range device which treats itself to a generous scoop of the Ice Cream Sandwich platform.

The Android-based Blade III claims to be a stylish piece of hardware that employs a 4-inch screen. Its TFT multi-touch display delivers images in 480 x 800p resolution. Encased in an exterior with dimensions of 120.5 x 63.5 x 10.85 millimeters, the handset weighing 130 grams has been blessed with a 5MP snapper. This rear-facing camera boasts of attributes like 4x digital zoom, video recording at the rate of 320 frames per second, automatic white balance, contrast brightness, built-in effects and more.

Its internal working is carried out under the supervision of a MSM7227A processor ticking at 1GHz. Additionally, the chipset is accompanied by 512MB of RAM to facilitate smooth navigation as well as support multiple applications at the same time. It ships with 4GB of onboard storage expandable by up to 32GB, with a little assistance of a microSD card.

And if that’s not enough, the phone can support all basic messaging services like SMS, MMS and email. It employs Bluetooth for wireless data transfer to and from compatible gadgets, while a USB port has been embedded for allowing prospective customers to tether it to various peripherals and computer systems. A 3.5mm headset jack is also in place to connect audio accessories.

It can run on Virgin Media’s GSM and UMTS network speeds and uses built-in Wi-Fi for web access via an open hotspot. It is fueled by a 1650mAh battery which provides talk time of close to 240 minutes and standby time of about 250 hours.

The ZTE Blade III is now available via Virgin Media with PAYG plan for £79.99 (approx. Rs. 6,670).
