The Verizon LG Spectrum 2 smartphone’s price and availability have been disclosed to put an end to all speculations surrounding the phone’s release. It toddles into the US with a True HD display and advanced imaging capabilities and naturally builds up on the success of the previously released Spectrum.

The Global Ready smartphone is compatible with data and voice services in as many as 220 countries around the world and even offers compliance to Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network connectivity. An Advanced High Performance IPS display dominates the front panel and provides multi-touch real estate of 4.7 inches. Measuring 5.31 x 2.69 x 0.36 inches, the Ice Cream Sandwich-based Spectrum 2 employs a 1.3MP front-mounted camera for video calling purposes and an 8MP rear-facing snapper for capturing still shots and videos.

Internal working of the phone is taken care of by the 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Krait processor as well as 1GB of RAM. A 2150mAh lithium-ion battery can cough up the juice for talk time of about 624 minutes, while a battery cover packaged along with the device enables wireless charging. It can act as a Wi-Fi hotspot and comes with features like Bluetooth, NFC, LG Tag+ Stickers and DLNA compatibility. An expansion slot for a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity has been embedded for additional memory.

The Spectrum 2 is now available through Verizon Wireless for $99.99 (approx. Rs. 5,410) after $50-mail in rebate. Users are required to sign up for a two-year customer agreement and qualifying data plans.
