Disposable booklet smartphone concept with nanoparticles revealed

Pamphlet Smartphone

Developments suggest that in the future, we might witness a distinctive booklet smartphone which is not just easily disposable, but also foldable and won’t require recharging. If this effort comes to fruition, we might not have to worry about electronic waste, at least in case of handsets.

Designer Ilshat Garipov seems to be working on such a design which has featured on the Yanko Design website. Most of us are aware that the corpus of most conventional handsets is mainly composed of silicon particles which helps them last for a long period of time. On the other hand, this concept phone swaps the aforementioned substance with nanoparticles.

These tiny elements which are invisible to the naked eye are deemed to be of immense use in electronic and biomedical as well as optical fields. The use of nanoparticles not only makes the phone disposable, but also lightweight and as thin as cardboard. This also allows the device to be folded and unfolded just like a pamphlet.

Disposable Smartphone

The probable design of this concept device is strikingly different from the conventional smartphone options flooding the market almost every day. This one appears more like a creatively cut booklet which can be opened and closed, something similar to user manuals. The design can be altered as per the manufacturer’s or user’s desire.

The phone has no provisions for a battery because the nanoparticles charge themselves by means of solar energy. With this, owners won’t have to worry about running out of juice. For those who worry about losing private information, all data is managed through a cloud service.

Scientists are still working towards transforming this booklet phone concept into a reality.
