Samsung Star 3 and Star 3 Duos to debut this month

Sequels to the previously released Star and Star 2 phones, the Samsung Star 3 and Star 3 Duos are gearing up to go globetrotting, starting this month. Initially releasing in Russia, the devices will later be introduced in regions like Europe, Latin America, CIS, Middle East, Africa, Southeast and Southwest Asia. Both Star 3 phones are crammed with similar features, except that the Duos variant incorporates dual SIM capabilities.

Apt for users who wish to keep in touch with friends over social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter, the Star 3 and Star 3 Duos feature ChatOn in addition to messaging services like MSN, Yahoo! and Google Talk. They are enclosed in metallic curvy cases of thickness 11.5mm and don 3-inch QVGA TFT LCD multi-touch displays. The intuitive interface of both Samsung devices can be attributed to TouchWiz Lite.

Both Star 3 devices are armed with a 3.2MP camera each, capable of recording videos in MPEG4 and H.263 formats. The multimedia-ready phones come with music player with SoundAlive and supports playback of most common formats. Their onboard memory of 20MB can be expanded up to 16GB via microSD cards. Additionally, the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled mobile phones are powered by 1,000mAh Li-ion batteries.

The Samsung Star 3 and Star 3 Duos prices and release dates are yet to be revealed.
