Samsung India adds Star II Duos, Metro Duos and Metro 3752 to dual-SIM portfolio

Fresh after the teaser of the Galaxy S II, Samsung is expanding its dual-SIM line-up in India with three new mobile phones, dubbed Star II Duos C6712, Metro Duos C3322 and Metro 3752. With this release, the company now boasts of fourteen dual-SIM handsets in the Indian market.

The Star II Duos is a full touchscreen mobile phone with a 3.2MP camera and Bluetooth version 3.0 connectivity. Powered by a 1200mAh battery, it holds 30MB of internal memory and is also Wi-Fi enabled. The handset boasts of the Touchwiz 3.0 Interface and also features like SoundAlive and FindMusic.

“The dual-SIM market continues to be a strong focus area for us. Consumers increasingly want to stay connected with friends and family through SNS, IM and messaging while being on the move. These new dual-SIM offerings from Samsung meet their needs through convenient messaging features as well as Dual SIM Standby feature that allows them to segregate their personal and professional lives,” stated Ranjit Yadav, Country Head, Mobile and IT, Samsung.

Next in line, the Samsung Metro Duos comes in a brushed metal design with a 5.6cm display. It is loaded with features like an MP3 player, FM radio, native client access to Facebook and Twitter and popular IMs like Yahoo, MSN, and GTalk. The handset can support a microSD card of up to 16GB and provides connectivity options such as EDGE, Bluetooth 2.1, WAP2.0/HTML browser and USB 2.0. The 1000mAh battery can support talk time of about 10 hours.

The Samsung Metro 3752 is a slider type phone with a 3MP camera. It delivers talk time of up to 11 hours with a 900mAh battery hiding inside it. The 6cm TFT screen on the front can display text content in eight regional dialects through this handset’s language support.

The Samsung Star Duos II is priced at Rs. 6,920, the Metro Duos at Rs. 4,240, and the Samsung Metro C3752 is available for Rs. 5,270.
