Sony Xperia S coming to Clove on March 5, now up for pre-order

Revealed at the CES 2012 that just concluded a few days ago, the Sony Xperia S smartphone is already being offered for pre-order by online retailer Clove. Although the handset will be running on the Android 2.3 OS, users will be able to upgrade it to the new generation Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich by the second quarter of this year.

The Sony mobile device operates on a 1.5GHz dual core processor and comes preloaded with the Music Unlimited app that presents users with a global catalogue of 12 million songs. It is equipped with a 4.3-inch LED back-lit HD Reality display featuring the Mobile Bravia Engine and gives owners quick and convenient access to the latest and most popular Hollywood movies and TV shows through the pre-installed Video Unlimited service.

Users are able to take photos and videos from the incorporated 12MP rear facing main camera. It boasts of features like 3D sweep panorama, 16x digital zoom, Sony Exmor R CMOS sensor and 1080p HD video recording capabilities. They can also perform video chats through the secondary 1.3MP 720p snapper.

The NFC enabled Xperia S can reportedly deliver an intense gaming experience owing to the PlayStation certification that it possesses. Users of this smartphone could avert boredom by accessing various games via the PlayStation Store or even a plethora of movies and TV shows through the Sony Entertainment Network.

The Sony Xperia S can be pre-ordered online for a price of £467.99 (approx. Rs. 36,820) including Vat at clove.co.uk. Shipping is scheduled to commence from March 5.
