Verizon Nokia Lumia 822 price may be $49

Verizon Nokia Lumia 822

The Verizon Nokia Lumia 822 price has been speculated as $49 on contract. But there is still no official announcement to back this rumor. Reportedly, Windows 7 PCs and Zune refuse to recognize this device that runs the Windows Phone 8 OS.

According to WMPoweruser, the 4G LTE handset has a plasticky feel and employs a non-removable shell. It ships with 16GB onboard storage and even features a microSD card slot. The gadget enables users to share pictures and documents through Bluetooth, Outlook, tap2send and a number of social networking websites like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter amongst others. Needless to say, like most other Windows Phone devices from the Finnish manufacturer, it will be pre-installed with multiple applications like Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps and more.

Considering that it is a variant of the Lumia 820, its front panel should be fitted with a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen along with a VGA front camera for facilitating web conferencing on the move. The smartphone’s back side may be dominated by an 8MP camera. Moreover, long-pressing an application allows users to pin that app not only to the start screen, but also on Kids Corner. Its speech recognition comes in handy to conveniently send emails by dictating them.

The inspiration behind this handset, the Lumia 820, gains steam from a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor that can clock in a speed of 1.5GHz. There’s 1GB of RAM and a 1650mAh battery under the hood to provide uninterrupted talk time of about 8 hours on a single charge. Its 4.3-inch ClearBlack Super AMOLED touch panel can render clear visuals in 800 x 480p resolution.

The on-contract price of the Verizon Nokia Lumia 822 is apparently tagged at $49.99 (approx. Rs, 2,650), but there is no word about its release date.
