Contradictory to our earlier report, the Samsung Galaxy will be entering Verizon stores on July 12. So fans will have to wait past the July 10 date to get their hands on the device through the carrier’s channels.

This particular smartphone’s launch seems to be facing an extra set of hurdles with its release date being rescheduled every now and then. The last time we heard from the carrier in question, it had plans to release the handset tomorrow itself. However, going back on this earlier announcement, the network operator clearly hints that the device’s launch date has been pulled back by 2 days and it will start shipping on July 12. According to Engadget, a few pre-ordered devices have commenced shipping, while some pre-order customers have already received the handset.

Verizon subscribers can take advantage of 4G LTE-optimized applications like Color to upload live A/V clips on Facebook. Additionally, Viewdini connects users to a range of content providers covering cable operators, websites and video sources. They can pick this application via Verizon Apps or even Google Play. Shedding light on a few hardware specs, we have the Ice Cream Sandwich-based device being powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core CPU that has replaced the quad core Exynos processor stateside. The handset wears a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED capacitive touch panel, houses 2GB RAM and uses 16GB onboard memory that can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card.

The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 priceis marked at $199.99 (approx. Rs. 11,170) for the 16GB version and $249.99 (approx. Rs. 13,970) for the 32GB one. The tags are inclusive of a two-year agreement and data plans. The phones can be picked up drenched in marble white or pebble blue.
