As announced back in February, the Samsung Galaxy S Aviator has indeed marked the arrival of U.S. Cellular’s 4G LTE network. For a limited period of time, the carrier will be offering the device for a discounted price of under $100 in select 4G LTE markets.

The Aviator binges on the Android Gingerbread (2.3.6) platform, while it acquires multitasking properties from the Hummingbird processor running at a speed of 1GHz. The front panel is dominated by a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus multi-touch display and sports a 1.3MP front-facing camera to facilitate video conferencing. The rear side of the phone is dotted by an 8MP camera with LED flash, capable of recording videos.

“We are excited to bring our customers our first 4G LTE smartphone to help them get more done in less time. The faster downloading and browse and talk function make it the go-to device for customers who depend on their smartphone to keep up with their busy schedules,” stated Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular.

The lightweight device tips the scale at 5 ounces and measures 5.11 x 2.66 x 0.46 inches. The Samsung Galaxy S Aviator draws power from a 1600mAh lithium-ion battery that should offer a talk time of close to 6.5 hours on a single charge. Its standby time is said to be approximately 13 days. Moreover, it comes embedded with an HDMI port that allows users to watch the phone’s content on a big screen television.

The Samsung Galaxy S Aviator price and availability details have been confirmed by U.S. Cellular. It can now be purchased for $199.99 (approx. Rs. 10,210) after a $100 mail-in rebate via U.S. Cellular stores or the official website. Also, for a limited time, prospective users can grab their devices for $99.99 (approx. Rs. 5,100) after a $100 mail-in rebate. It requires a qualifying data plan and a two-year service agreement.
