Sony Xperia J UK price and release date get a mention from Clove

Along with the HTC Desire X, the Sony Xperia J UK price and release date details have surfaced from Clove. This Xperia Arc-inspired smartphone which appeared along with the Xperia T and Xperia V will be available SIM-free by the end of August for less than £200.

A 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A processor takes charge here with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform running the show. 512MB of RAM does its part in enhancing multitasking capabilities, while 4GB of built-in memory caters to hoarding needs. The Sony Xperia J is fitted with a microSD card slot as well, supporting a total of 32GB. Visuals are taken care of by a 4-inch FWVGA touchscreen which portrays a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels.

“The Xperia J is part of a range of new smartphones announced by Sony at IFA last week, which also includes its new flagship, the Xperia T, and the Xperia V. The Xperia J slots into the middle of the new range, which follows on from a similar set of handsets (Xperia S, P and U), which were released earlier this year,” reads a post on the official clove blog.

For better protection against scratches and scrapes, the company has coated the screen with a layer of Corning Gorilla. The rear is equipped with a 5MP camera and LED flash camera for snapping up stills and recording videos. Other features fitted within dimensions of 124.3mm x 61.2mm x 9.2mm include a VGA front-facing lens, Wi-Fi b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 1750mAh battery which is said to deliver up to 7 hours and 18 minutes of talktime or around 618 hours of standby.
