Sony Xperia AX Japan release date surfaces, launch set before year’s end

Xperia AX Colors

The Sony Xperia AX Japan release date is announced, but the company is yet to confirm the exact shipping details. As for the price, we still have to wait for its announcement too.

Being a variant of the Xperia V, this handset brings along a number of features found in the latter device. First to make it to the specifications sheet is a 4.3-inch HD Reality touch panel that’s powered by the company’s Mobile Bravia Engine 2 for enhanced visuals. There is also the 13MP rear-facing camera that offers new shooting modes along with the Superior Auto highlight.

Users can even take advantage of the Picture Effect mode for previewing shots in various effects. Adding zing to the entertainment experience is the ClearAudio+ technology that’s said to augment the sound quality. Like the global version, this device rides into town on the Ice Cream Sandwich platform with no mention of a further upgrade to the Jelly Bean OS. There’s also a possibility of it coming with the same 1.5GHz Qualcomm dual core processor as the international variant.

The device supports NFC that enables users to share photos and music files with a single touch. Plus, there is 4G LTE connectivity for web browsing as well as downloading games, books, apps and much more. For this particular variant, the company has included a number of Japan-specific attributes like an infrared port, the mobile wallet tool and the mobile TV app.

As mentioned above, the Sony Xperia AX price in Japan is still under wraps. But according to a post on the Sony Xperia Product blog, the handset’s release date is set to fall by this year’s end.
