The Droid 3, better known as the Motorola XT860 4G in Canada is expected to be available exclusively from Bell. Besides featuring a new name, the smartphone will come with HSPA+ 4G technology for faster connectivity.

Equipped with a 1GHz dual-core processer, the Android 2.3 powered smartphone packs in a 4” qHD touchscreen display. For ease of typing the device features a five row QWERTY keyboard which easily slides out from under the phone. The company also claims the handset to simultaneously run apps, stream media and surf the web.

For an enhanced web experience, Adobe Flash 10 will grant users access to flash based sites, videos and games. Over HSPA+ or Wi-Fi connections users can video chat with friends, family and with work using the front facing VGA camera. Furthermore, the device can be connected to external displays using HDMI.

David Petrou, sales director, Motorola Mobility Canada commented, “The Motorola XT860 4G is the superphone for the superhuman task of balancing our personal and business lives. With a dual core processor, ultra-efficient 5th row QWERTY and powerful multimedia features, you’re up to the challenge.”

“Bell has established itself as Canada’s superphone destination and we’re excited to add the Motorola XT860 4G – our first superphone with a full keyboard – to our already impressive portfolio of these powerful devices. On Canada’s best network, the XT860 will offer a range of benefits for both business and consumer customers,” added Tony Grewal, director of products at Bell Mobility.

Besides the fun features, the device is also business-ready with access to MS Office files such as documents, presentations and spreadsheets on the Quickoffice application that comes pre-built with the phone. Also users can access business application, desktops and IT services with the Citrix Received software.

The Motorola XT860 4G smartphone will be available exclusively to Bell users some time during summer. Price of the device is still not mentioned from Motorola neither Bell.
