Nokia 603 smartphone operating on Symbian Belle to be launched this year

After announcing two new feature phones, the Finnish company is set to introduce the all new Nokia 603 smartphone which runs on the Symbian Belle platform. The handset is expected to start shipping in the fourth quarter of this year, reports the Nokia Conversations blog.

The customizable smartphone comes with six homescreen options and a wide range of widgets. Integrated with a 1GHz processor, it is said to offer a power life of up to seven hours and a stand-by time of about 460 hours. Measuring 113.5 x 57.1 x 12.7 millimeters, the handset is fitted with a 3.5-inch ClearBlack display of nHD 640 x 360p resolution. The toughened glass of the device ensures clarity in bright lighting conditions.

“The Nokia 603 continues the renewal of our smartphone range with products that are uniquely matched to the needs of people around the world. Whatever the price-point, our aim is to ensure all Nokia smartphones are crafted for use, have Nokia’s trusted quality, are better connected, and contain unexpected surprises like the ability to tap to pair and share with NFC,” stated Tuula Rytila, Senior Vice President, Nokia.

Also, it employs a 5MP rear-facing camera with digital zoom capable of capturing videos of resolution 720p. It is pre-loaded with photo and video editing software facilitating quick uploads on social networking websites. Further, the smartphone is pre-installed with a number of applications such as Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Shazam and YouTube in addition to certain business applications like Microsoft Office Communicator, Quick Office Adobe pdf reader and more.

The NFC-enabled Nokia 603 smartphone is priced at €200 (approx. Rs. 13,495).
