Pantech has announced AT&T to be the exclusive supplier of the latest dual-slider phone, called the Matrix Pro.

We’ve seen the Matrix become a hit with consumers, and the Matrix Pro will appeal to anyone who wants a powerful smartphone with a great design.”
Successor of the Pantech Duo, this revolutionary phone flaunts dual-sliding double-keyboard design that supports the QWERTY and numeric keypads. It is said to be an ideal device for messaging as it offers a chat-style view of text messages.
Based on Windows Mobile 6.1 platform, the Matrix Pro enables users to run an array of Windows Mobile applications on a larger and more brilliant 2.4-inch LCD screen.
Moreover, it is compatible with tri-band 3G for the best global coverage possible that allows users to access corporate and personal e-mails, various AT&T services such as MobiTV, Napster Mobile, eMusic Mobile, AT&T Mobile Banking and CV on-demand video. It also includes AT&T Video Share calling and even allows users to listen to a conference call on a headset while accessing e-mails, picture messages or Web pages.
Apart from that, the Matrix Pro comes equipped with a 2 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom feature and video recording capabilities, enhanced memory space, a faster processor and aGPS support for location-based services such as AT&T Navigator.

As it operates on the fastest 3G network at home and the best global coverage outside the U.S, the Matrix Pro enables users to make calls in over 200 countries, access data in more than 160 and even use 3G data in more than 65 countries.
Expected to roll out on 24th February in a steel-blue metallic finish, the Matrix Pro carries a price tag of $179.99 (approx. Rs. 8,980) after a two-year service agreement and a $50 mail-in rebate. It can be purchased from AT&T website and company-owned stores.
