Samsung rolls out E2120 candybar phone

Samsung E2120 Handset

After a long line of high end luxurious phones, Samsung is now out with a new low-end candybar phone called the E2120, reports Ubergizmo. This move indicates that Samsung has finally started thinking about the mid-range market again. This entry-level phone that caters to the basic needs of the mid-range market was first glimpsed on the company’s German website.

The Samsung E2120 will include a 1.52” CSTN display with 65k colors. The display is said to provide a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. Powered by a 1,000mAh battery, this phone supports dual-band GSM/GPRS connectivity.

The mp3 player and integrated FM radio add to the appeal of this phone. It also includes a VGA camera. The images clicked with this camera can be shared via the Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity that the phone supports. The 9MB of internal memory can be expanded via a microSD card.

Samsung is also offering a Chinese version of this phone called the E2120C that incorporates similar features. The only difference between the handsets is that the entry-level price for the E2120 is nil when purchased with a contract. The other details of this phone are still under wraps.
