Samsung Olympic Games Campaign Mobile Phones introduced

Samsung Electronics, an official Worldwide Partner of the Olympic Games in wireless communication equipments has launched three of its new, high-profile mobile phones with the Olympic Games campaign for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Samsung Olympic logo The phones have been designed exclusively for this grand event. The E848 mobile phone is designed especially for BOCOG. The P318 and U308 have been developed for joint marketing campaigns with China Mobile.
Samsung E848 is the same Samsung E840 10.6 mm thin slider with 2 mp camera, announced this February, Samsung P318 is renumbered Samsung P310 – a credit card sized phone and Samsung U308 is a re-brand of Samsung U300 Ultra Edition II – 9.6 mm thin clamshell.

Samsung has also announced Liu Xuan as Samsung’s Olympic Ambassador. Liu Xuan is nominated as an Olympic Gymnastics champion.

Samsung is committed to building wireless Olympic Games through its Wireless Olympic Works (WOW). Apart from this, Samsung Olympic Games Visual Identity System (SOVIS), Samsung’s Olympic Torch Relay Plan and Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung (OR@S) have been introduced.

For the launch, Geesung Choi, President and CEO of Telecommunication Network Business of Samsung Electronics, Keun-Hee Park, President and CEO of Samsung China, Inyong Rhee, Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of Samsung Electronics, Wang Wei, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad gave their presence.

Samsung plans to enhance its brand awareness with the delicate, slide-open E848 handset, and improve the brand perception of both Samsung and China Mobile through their joint promotion of the P318 and the U308 for CMCC network.
