The Acer Aspire V5 series has already been available in India for many months now and the company has decided to introduce 4 new versions to the lineup by officially disclosing their price. The latest entrants are touch-enabled which made their debut along with the Windows 8 platform back in October last year.
The touch series is said to come with different screen sizes and configurations for catering to the needs of various types of customers. The base version will basically carry a Pentium dual core CPU, while higher-end variants will employ the latest Core series processors up to the Core i5. The laptops are touted to deliver high performance with an aim to boost productivity, while also being energy-efficient at the same time.
To make the most out of the 10-point touch-enabled LED backlit HD displays that range between 14 inches and 15.6 inches in wideness, the company has pre-loaded the laptops with the Windows 8 platform that proffers a fluid and intuitive interface. The panels equipped here have an aspect ratio of 16:9. Resting below is a full-sized chicklet keyboard with optional back-lighting and a large multi-gesture trackpad for smooth scrolling and navigation. A Crystal Eye HD webcam has been fitted above the screen for live video calling.
Coming to the design, the laptops in this range take on a slim form factor that’s also lightweight. According to the manufacturer, each device is less than 20mm thick and a tad heavier than 2kg. The exterior has been given a glossy finish to exhibit a stylish appearance. Where entertainment is concerned, the series is deployed with a built-in slim DVD drive that’s complemented by the Dolby Advanced Audio technology for a rich surround sound experience and a 2-spindle design which is capable of housing a high-storage hard drive. Other perks thrown in include the 2.5-second Instant Connect feature, the clear.fi technology and apps such as Backup Manager as well as eRecovery Manager.
The Acer Aspire V5 is said to be available for Rs. 34,550 in India which goes all the way up to Rs. 47,500 based on configuration and version selected. There’s currently no information given out pertaining to the availability of all 4 laptops, although a release date should be presented sometime soon.
