The Karbonn Smart A111 5-inch handset has stepped out in the open through Flipkart which seems to be the only e-retailer in India stocking it right now, placed at a comfortable price of Rs. 10,290. This new phone is a dual SIM one and features Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS at its heart. It can be purchased via the retailer now along with options such as Cash on Delivery as well as EMI payments. And of course, there’s even a 1-year manufacturer warranty that comes along with the device.
Adopting the usual bar form factor, the device carries inside it two SIM card slots, both with GSM support. At the moment, only a black colored version can be purchased, but a white hue has nonetheless been listed with a ‘Coming Soon’ tag. Considering that it is yet to be officially unveiled by the Bangalore-based company, it comes as quite a surprise that it has popped up on Flipkart silently. Moreover, there seems to be no trace whatsoever of this device on other popular e-retailers in the country.
As far as its core specifications are concerned, the new handset prides itself on a 5-inch capacitive display which pushes it straight into the phablet space that has been getting increasingly crowded lately. Those expecting it to sport the Android Jelly Bean OS will need to make do with Ice Cream Sandwich for now. No news about a possible update to the former has come out as yet. A 2100mAh battery has been crammed into it by its maker for keeping it running in between charges.
A 5MP primary shooter forms part of its attributes as well, and this camera is accompanied on the phone’s rear by an LED flash. There’s even a secondary front-facing snapper that users can take advantage of. Under its hood lies a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Scorpion dual core processor which gives it the necessary steam. 512MB RAM and 4GB worth of internal storage also find their way into the handset.
The Karbonn Smart A111 can be picked up now through Flipkart at Rs. 10,290. It is unclear as to when it will be arriving with other e-retailers in India.
