The Panasonic Toughbook CF-SX2 is the latest addition to the company’s Toughbook lineup that’s aimed at the business class with enterprise-ready features. Cast in a magnesium alloy chassis, this rugged device weighs not more than 1.21kg with a 4-cell battery and 1.42kg with an 8-cell powerhouse.

And since we are talking of its robust features, this device is capable of resisting 76cm drops, shocks and surviving up to 100kgf of pressure. It measures approximately 295mm x 197.5mm x 25.4mm and runs on the Windows 7 Professional platform. A 3rd generation Intel Core i5-3320M vPro Processor clocked at 2.6GHz powers up the notebook along with 4GB of DDR3 RAM. Plus, customers will have 250GB of HDD space and an SDXC slot for memory expansion. Two USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI socket are lined up on the chassis.

Scrolling Touchpad

There’s even Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 support for data access and file transfers, respectively. A 12.1-inch HD+ display renders visuals in a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. Users can customize the setting of the ergonomic scrolling touchpad to suit their requirements and there’s also an 84-key keyboard for quick input. The laptop provides a 720p webcam and a built-in microphone for video conferencing. While on a single charge, it is capable of delivering roughly 9 hours of run time through the 4-cell battery or 14 hours of usage via the 8-cell one.

The price in India for the Panasonic Toughbook CF-SX2 starts at Rs. 1,25,000 plus tax, and can be configured with various added features. It is business oriented and currently available for purchase through the company.
