NEC LaVie X Ultrabook release date for Japan set for December 27

The NEC LaVie X Ultrabook release date for Japan has been revealed to be December 27, but there is no word yet on the device’s global availability. Featuring a 15.6-inch screen, this extremely sleek notebook tips the scales at 1.59 kilograms and measures merely 12.8mm in thickness.

The portable computer, spotted by Ubergizmo, allows users to carry out multiple tasks on the move, such as organizing paperwork or photos, thanks to its lightweight chassis. This stylish device flaunts a low-profile and modestly designed aluminum alloy exterior and lets customers have the flexibility of using it wherever they want. Its LCD LED IPS display with a wide viewing angle spanning 15.6 inches can project high definition images in 1920 x 1080p resolution.

This notebook arrives with a full-sized keyboard and a separate numeric keypad to enable users to type faster. The Windows 8-based Ultrabook is also embedded with a large touchpad that recognizes gestures to carry out various operations. This glossy piece of hardware has also been incorporated with a cooling system for an efficient performance. In order to maintain its slim appearance, the company has used compact fans that work towards efficient dissipating heat.

Furthermore, the LaVie X powers up to 80 percent in about an hour and coughs up the juice for close to 7 hours in between charges. It wakes up from the sleep mode in about 2 seconds and boots up fast as it employs a 3.0 SATA SSD of 256GB capacity. Its ability to offer improved multitasking can be attributed to the latest generation Intel Core i7-3517U processor that rests snugly under the hood.

The Ultrabook comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 in order to enable prospective users to stay productive at all times. It ships with 4GB of dual channel RAM and is armed with a 720p HD camera for video conferencing purposes. Its wireless communication options are inclusive of Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth v4.0 + HS.

The NEC LaVie X Ultrabook will be available in Japan from December 27.
