Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch

The price of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch Ultrabook, optimized for the latest Windows OS, has been announced along with its availability details. With the new OS, the company has introduced touch controls and gesture support, but it continues to be inspired by the basic model.

The touchscreen variant is a little thicker and slightly heavier than its non-touch counterpart. It tips the scales at 3.4 pounds and measures close to 20.8mm in thickness. The device is constructed using the carbon fiber material that makes it durable enough to endure everyday wear and tear. Besides a 10-finger 1600 x 900p 14-inch HD+ multi-touch LED-backlit display, it comes with a glass touchpad for gesture recognition.

The Lenovo notebook is fueled by the latest generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors and employs the Intel HD 4000 GPU to ensure improved graphics performance on the move. It is even loaded with up to 8GB of DDR3L SDRAM and can support a SATA3 SSD of up to 128GB capacity. Users can also expect the device to tag along wireless communication options like Bluetooth 4.0 with antenna and Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205S.

Besides the touchscreen and the multi-gesture touchpad, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch is fitted with a backlit keyboard for input flexibility. A 720p HD face-tracking camera has also been added to the mix to facilitate video conferencing over the web. This Microsoft Lync-certified Ultrabook embedded with dual array microphones, claims to deliver video and voice tracking capabilities sans an external USB peripheral.

And if that’s not enough, this notebook also works towards keeping users entertained at all times and is deployed with Dolby Home Theater v4. Featuring a USB 2.0 Ethernet adapter, it arrives pre-loaded with multiple security attributes such as vPro, a fingerprint reader, TPM and BIOS encryption amongst others. The device can cough up the juice for usage time of close to 8 hours, thanks to the Lenovo RapidCharge technology.

The customizable Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch Ultrabook is now available for a starting price of $1,499 (approx. Rs. 81,460) through the official website and authorized retailers.
