After the Aspire One netbook for light computing and the M5 Ultrabook for business professionals, the OEM is back with yet another notebook called the Acer TravelMate P243 for those who are constantly on the move. This travel companion is said to be suitable for small and medium size businesses, courtesy the integrated Ivy Bridge processors.

Besides the third generation Intel Core CPU, the device in question takes advantage of the Intel Turbo Boost technology to render relatively fast performance, while saving up on power life. These processing units allow users to carry out multiple operations at the same time. It has also been optimized for improved graphics performance with the Nvidia GeForce GT 630M GPUs to facilitate multimedia creation as well as for entertainment on the move. Support for Microsoft DirectX 11 has also been added.

Moreover, the TravelMate laptop has been loaded with Acer ProShield Security that tags along security as well as manageability tools to eliminate the possibilities of unauthorized access to personal user data saved onto the device. Pre-boot authentication (PBA) offers protection against BIOS level and the option to create a Personal Secure Drive (PSD) should provide a solution to store and encrypt important files. It also includes File Shredder and a remote automated attribute to manage IT assets.

Acer Backup and eRecovery Manager should take care of creating backups and recovering important data and the Acer Office Manager has been added for monitoring and deploying security policies. Additionally, the notebook adheres to guidelines laid down for EPEAT Gold and Energy Star 5.0 certifications.
