Toshiba Tecra R950

The newly announced Toshiba Tecra R940 and Tecra R950 notebooks are packed in with features explicitly meant for meeting business class requirements. The last we reported about Toshiba, the company was seen introducing the Portege series with 3rd generation Intel Core processors.

The Toshiba laptops differ mainly in terms of their display sizes. While the R940 sports a 14-inch diagonal LED-backlit widescreen HD display, the other is outfitted with a 15.6-inch one. To offer increased durability, the company has wrapped each device in a fiberglass-enhanced frame with a honeycomb rib structure. The internal pillar reinforcements and EasyGuard inclusions contribute to the robustness. What’s more, each member of this series is equipped with power-saving Eco Utility technology coupled with an optimized heat venting system.

“Toshiba has a long history of designing products for highly targeted audiences. With this new line of Tecra laptops, Toshiba has tailored its products to meet the needs of the growing small and medium sized businesses segment. Small- and medium-sized business owners have asked for laptops built with specific functionality and a direct method to purchase and we’ve responded,” commented Carl Pinto, vice president of marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Digital Products Division.
