The makers of the Envy series of laptops have also updated the EliteBook range with the HP EliteBook Folio 9470m Ultrabook and the p-series models namely, the EliteBook 2170p, 2570p, 8470p and 8570p. The devices are designed with emphasis on certain criteria including reliability, security and performance amongst others.
The Folio 9470m UltraBook comes encased in a sleek 19mm form factor, weighing 3.5 pounds. Complete with business features, it boasts of enterprise-class docking capabilities in addition to attributes responsible for keeping the data secure. The Intel based 14-inch notebook boots up quickly and offers additional power life with the assistance of a secondary battery. Its connectivity options are inclusive of an Ethernet connector, a VGA port, a DisplayPort, USB 3.0 and support for 4G wireless LAN.
The 2170p of the p-series is the lightest and smallest at less than 2.9 pounds, but the 11.6-inch notebook should not shy away from carrying out demanding tasks. It coughs up the juice for close to 9 hours and even works in conjunction with common docking stations. The 12.5-inch 2570p supports LTE connectivity and crams in an optical drive along with various other connectivity options.
Said to be apt for business professionals, the 14-inch 8470p and 15.6-inch 8570p run the third generation Intel Core processors, similar to all other EliteBooks. Both these laptops have been integrated with SRS Premium Sound Pro for enhanced acoustics. Additionally, a variant of the HP EliteBook 8470p can be used with the HP Ultra Extended Life Notebook Battery for an uninterrupted power life that lasts for about 36 hours.
The HP EliteBook Folio 9470m release date and price are yet to be declared, but it will be out in October. The EliteBook 2170p and 2570p prices start at $999 (approx. Rs. 53,630) and $1,099 (approx. Rs. 59,000), respectively and they are slated to be made available on June 22. The EliteBook 8470p and 8570p begin at $899 (approx. Rs. 48,260) and are expected to hit store shelves on June 4.
