ECS G10IL Notebook

EliteGroup Computer Systems (ECS) has launched its new netbook, dubbed G10IL. If you got confused with the word netbook and thought that it’s a typo, then let me tell you that it’s NOT a typo. Netbook is another word meaning a mini-notebook.

Powered by Diamondville, the ECS G10IL laptop is available in either 10.2-inch display screen or 8.9-inch glossy display. Again, Diamondville is also known as the Intel Atom, an upcoming single core Atom CPU that is used in UMPC or small laptops.

The G10IL features built-in tri-band HSDPA and HSUPA modem to allow download speeds up to 7.2Mb/s or 2Mb/s. The other connectivity features are WLAN and Bluetooth.

Additionally, the ECS G10IL notebook includes:

  • Three USB 2.0 ports
  • Ethernet networking
  • A 56kbps analog modem
  • A four-in-one card reader
  • 1.3-mega pixel camera for video conferencing
  • Up to 2GB system memory
  • It will run on Linux or Windows XP operating system. Users have the option to choose between hard disc drive and solid state drive.

Expected to hit the market in April, the price of the ECS G10IL netbook is not known.
