HCL Infosystems has unveiled a new range of notebook computers in Punjab, featuring the ‘Embedded Continuity and Control’ (EC2) technology. The newly launched notebooks, also termed as ‘self-healing computers,’ can recover all data in less than a minute in case of a system crash or accidental loss of data by the user. Consequently, the computer never has a downtime of more than a minute, no matter how serious the error is.

George Paul, Executive Vice President, HCL Infosystems commented, “HCL is proud tointroduce Non-Stop Series of Leaptops with EC2 technology, which is a revolution in itself. Research has suggested that 95% of all problems with PCs are software related and include accidental deletion of critical data, corruption of various software or even virus-related system crashes.”

“HCL is glad to offer this global innovation as a tremendous value-addition to the buyers of ‘Non-stop Series’ of Leaptop notebooks. For anyone concerned with safety of his data and uptime of PC, EC2-enabled Leaptops represent the last word in a reliable and worry-free PC experience,” continued Paul.

The launch of HCL ‘Non Stop Series’ laptops is followed by the ‘HCL Mindia Conclave’, a concept pronounced by HCL in 2004 dedicated to the ability and activities of the great ‘Indian Mind’.

“In over thirty years of our operations, HCL has consistently introduced the latest and innovative computing technology to users in India. Our innovation in HCL EC2 technology and its introduction in Non-Stop Series Leaptops proudly carries this strong legacy forward. HCL also recognizes the needs of today’s notebook users for reliable and trouble-free computing experience and has therefore launched Non-Stop Series notebooks, which deliver unparalleled advantage of dependable and world-class notebook computing performance,” says Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman and CEO, HCL Infosystems.

A notebook with EC2 technology automatically stores in back-up space and updates a complete image of its own working state at regular intervals. There will be a complete record of all data, software and user data, residing inside the computer at any given point of time. If a system crash, fault or on accidental loss of data, a user can simply reload the recorded image and thus the computer working exactly like it was when the image was recorded.
